Silver Wings Parachute Demonstration Team

Established in 1965, the Silver Wings is a parachute demonstration team with its roots dating back to 1958 when it was founded by members of the Airborne-Air Mobility Command. The team's primary mission is to represent the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), 1/507th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) Airborne School, and the U.S. Army by showcasing the freefall capabilities of contemporary airborne forces.

The Silver Wings are based at Fort Moore, Georgia. Each team member is a certified parachutist, selected from various units stationed at Fort Moore, and possesses both military and civilian parachuting and freefall experience.

Since their inaugural jump in August 1965, the Silver Wings have played a pivotal role in motivating numerous airborne students and providing support for demonstrations throughout the United States. They act as ambassadors for the Airborne School, the Maneuver Center of Excellence, Fort Moore, and the United States Army by demonstrating the capabilities and expertise of today's airborne forces through their parachute exhibitions.
